Some folks think that heaven is a place that is afar.
Some folks think it’s hidden high above the highest star.
They have not been able to define it so it seems,
For heaven is within and it’s at hand.
Let’s not push God’s blessing to some future time and place.
Let us enter fully in the power of His grace.
He tells us to enter and His promises embrace,
For heaven is within and it’s at hand.
We’re seated now with Jesus in the mighty heavenlies,
Mortal eyes won’t see it ’til our bodies are redeemed.
Called out saints take hold of heaven’s high authority,
For heaven is within and it’s at hand.
Many a skilled painter tried to visualize a dream.
Many theologians have devised their clever schemes.
They have not been able to define it so it seems,
For heaven is within and it’s at hand.

Heaven’s height is not a height that natural eyes can see.
Heaven is a place in God of high authority.
Jesus won it for us, and God gives it to us free,
