Some doctrine, dogma, theory, thought
Seems so valid when it’s not.
Is it revelation though
Or speculation; do you know?
When men’s assumptions are forgot,
They sound like facts, but they are not,
And on this sandy soil of lies
They build a tower to the skies.

If the Holy Spirit leads
Each one who yields,
Each one who heeds,
He will teach us all the same.
Glory to His holy Name!
Let us follow as He leads us,
For in Him, we are agreed.
All our own ways, now disclaim.
Glory to His Holy name.

The mind is wicked to deceive,
Many tricks are up its sleeve.
Taking theories from the pit,
It twists the Word of God to fit.
And, all those strongholds in the mind,
Now how they hold us, how they bind!
Lord, all these theories, take away.
Expose them to the light of day.

God’s Word is pure, but logic? No!
When combined, they’re quite a show.
Tainted truth is never shy
To bring forth one more crafty lie.
But rather if the Spirit leads,
If we will yield, if we concede,
And laying down all that we know,
That’s when we can begin to grow.

So don’t resist Him when He leads
For He knows of all your needs.
He wants to fill you today.
He leads you in His holy way.
He leads you to His Word with prayer
To find a pleasant respite there,
Our theories are of little use,
But He reveals His holy Truth.

The Spirit leads if we obey;
On resistance, goes away.
Christian, have you heard His voice,
But made, instead, a different choice?
As Baalim, did the Spirit show?
But, when you spurned Him, bid you, “Go!”
You can repent and turn around.
But seek Him while He may be found.

So, if the Holy Spirit leads
He moves in total unity.
Sent by self? It is in vain,
Or sent by men? Where is the gain?
And God set the apostles for
A sure foundation and what’s more,
The doctrine is revealed to them
Just as the Scripture does proclaim.

So many ran who were not sent,
And God’s ways they broke or bent,
Saying what folks love to hear,
And drawing those with itching ears.
The Spirit tells you how you need
True apostles who will lead,
And if you yield, He will reveal.
The Lord will show you what is real.

So Count your education loss.
Leave it hanging on the cross.
Seek the Lord with all your might,
And let Him bring His Word to light.
For bread, He won’t give you a stone,
Nor snake for fish unto His own.
He is the one whom you can trust.
He is the good and kind and just.
