This freedom in the Lord, when He enfolds me,
Is freedom from my own corrupt desire.
How different from flesh that earth-bound holds me
Enslaved to self and held in world’s mire.
The fleshly effort that extols or scolds me,
Can never bring me to the Lord’s desire.
This freedom in the Lord, when He enfolds me
Consumes my death-bent flesh with holy fire.
This freedom in the Lord, when He enfolds me,
Inspires to apprehend and to acquire
The Kingdom of the Lord to which He molds me,
The power of the vision I admire.
This Spirit of the Lord, as He enfolds me,
Gives vision, so I see my new attire.
With freedom from the Lord, as He enfolds me,
I press to be completed and entire.
