What is faith? “Faith” is translated from the Greek word, “pistis,” which means belief. The verb form is “pisteo,” which means believe.
How does faith come? No one comes to Jesus on their own. The Father God must draw them. (John 6:44) Faith comes by hearing the word (rhema) of God. “Word” is translated from the Greek word, “rhema,” which means a spoken sentence or statement. The Father leads you, and faith comes. It’s a gift from God to you.
With any blessing, the enemy of our souls will oppose what God is doing. Jesus Christ is real and knowable. All who seek Him find Him. He leads, teaches, and corrects all who follow Him. The enemy hates this.
Tactic 1: Atheism or agnosticism that says: God doesn’t exist. You aren’t experiencing what you are experiencing. You are hallucinating. Prove it. Only that which can be scientifically tested is rational.
These are only a few of the many lies the enemy will tell. The enemy will make fun of you. Each statement a skeptic makes is a bare assertion that is irrational since no argument against the reality of God and His leading is based on truth. Without truth there is no rational thought, but you know God. He proved Himself to you.
Tactic 2: Cessationism. That was for the apostolic age. The Bible says prophecy will cease.
The Bible verses used are taken out of context. (1 Corinthians 13:8-12, see reference below)
If the enemy can’t eliminate divine leading entirely, he will try to limit your freedom in this area with many rules. Often, this will be done with subtle twisting of Scripture. You will need divine wisdom to detect the problem.
As a last resort, the enemy will bring false prophets and false teachers who claim to have revelations. What is a false prophet or false teacher? False prophets and false teachers don’t stand in the presence of God listening to His voice. Since they have nothing from the Lord, they speak from their own minds. They give their interpretations of Scripture based on rationalized thinking. You will know them by their fruits. Don’t be fooled by a big show or by signs and wonders. What are they doing?
“If they had stood before me and listened to me, they would have spoken my words, and they would have turned my people from their evil ways and deeds” (Jeremiah 23:22).
“This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says to his people: “Do not listen to these prophets when they prophesy to you, filling you with futile hopes. They are making up everything they say. They do not speak for the LORD!” (Jeremiah 23:16).
Follow the by grace through faith way.

Seeking God about Lies and Truth about Him (God)
AUDIO RECORDING FOR REFLECTION: |
- Pray for the Lord to protect you and keep you in His presence and His presence only.
- Direct your mind toward the Lord only.
- Ask God the two questions and take notes on what God says. “What lies to I believe about God?” “What is true about God?”
- Do not edit or change what God says even if you don’t understand it.
- Out loud, reject the lies.
- Out loud receive the truth.
- Transfer your notes to your journal without editing what God said to you.
Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.
