One step in God's process to transform you

This devotional continues from the last one to show that the Bible says God speaks. Demons speak too, but we are without excuse before God if we fail to acknowledge, thank, and glorify Him when He speaks. (Romans 1) ALL knowledge and wisdom come from Him. He’s the only source.

“Because a knowledge of God is revealed to them, for God has revealed it to them. For the secrets of God from the foundation of the world are appearing to His creatures through intelligence, even His power and His eternal Godhead, that they will be without a defense, Because they knew God, and they did not glorify Him as God, nor did they give Him thanks, so that they became destitute in their reasoning and became dull in their heart without understanding. And when they thought in themselves that they were wise, they became insane. (Romans 1:19-22)

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him” (Luke 11:13)

Jesus told us “Whoever is on the side of truth listens to Me” (John 18:37).

God is the one who begins your journey to become more like Jesus. 1 John 4:19 says God loved us first, so you can love Him back. Philippians 2:13 tells you God helps you want to do good things. You need to trust God to help you change. He’s not just changing what you do; He’s changing what you are.

From this time forward, Bible reading will change for you. You will begin to notice verses you never noticed before. These verses tell you God speaks, and they tell you how He speaks. God will continue to comfort you and encourage you to listen closely to His voice.

Ask God to answer these questions.

  1. Why does the Bible say you are without excuse if you don’t thank and glorify God?
  2. How do you know the difference between God’s voice and other voices?
  3. What are the secrets of God that are revealed to you?
  4. What happens if you don’t thank God or give Him glory?
  5. How does God help you change to become more like Jesus?

Bonus questions:

  1. Who are Jesus’ sheep?
  2. How do Jesus’ sheep hear His voice?
  3. Why do you need to live by every word that comes from God?
  4. Why can’t some people hear God’s words?
  5. What does it mean to receive Jesus and become a child of God?
  6. Why did some people not receive Jesus when He came into the world?

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

SEEKING GOD

audio recording for reflection:

  1. Pray for the Lord to protect you and keep you in His presence and His presence only.
  2. Direct your mind toward the Lord only.
  3. Ask God what He want’s to talk about.
  4. You can ask God any questions. In all of this, be led by the Holy Spirit. God promises that He will answer you if you ask Him.
  5. Do not edit or change what God says even if you don’t understand it.
  6. Reject the lies and receive the truth.
  7. Take notes.
  8. Transfer your notes to your journal without editing what God said to you.

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

Memory Verse Song

Memorize Luke 11:13 by writing a song.

“So if you sinful people know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him”

Make up a song melody to the words of the verse. Record a video of yourself singing the song and post it on social media. Let the Holy Spirit lead you in this. (Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.) Take what you learned, your notes or what you produced and videotape yourself. Become a kid influencer for Christ with your own social media platform by uploading your video as God leads.
