Your body will be changed. Our emotions and rationalizations won’t be able to drive us into trouble, pain, and error. Philippians 3:21 says, “Who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.” This verse promises that believers will receive new, glorified bodies like Jesus’ resurrected body. Again in 1 Corinthians 15:50-53 it says, “I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable. Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed— in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality.” This passage also describes the transformation of your earthly body into an immortal, glorified body. Here, we have it again in Philippians 3:20-21 where it says, “But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables Him to bring everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like His glorious body.” And then there’s 2 Corinthians 5:1-2 that says, “For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. Meanwhile we groan, longing to be clothed instead with our heavenly dwelling.” Paul contrasts your current, temporary body (he calls it an earthly tent) with the new, eternal body you will receive.

“And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.” (1 Corinthians 15:49)

What a glorious salvation. What a wonderful way. And you are on the journey.

“He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

Ask God to answer these questions.

1. What does it mean that your body will be changed?
2. Why will your new body be like Jesus’ body?
3. What does it mean that flesh and blood can’t inherit the kingdom of God?
4. What is the last trumpet and why is it important?
5. What is the difference between a perishable and imperishable body?

1. What does it mean to be clothed with immortality?
2. Why is your current body called an earthly tent?
3. What is the heavenly dwelling mentioned in 2 Corinthians 5?
4. Why will there be no more death, crying, or pain when the Kingdom of God is established on the earth?
5. What does it mean to bear the image of the heavenly man?

1. Pray for the Lord to protect you and keep you in His presence and His presence only.
2. Direct your mind toward the Lord only.
3. Ask God what He want’s to talk about.
4. You can ask God any questions. In all of this, be led by the Holy Spirit. God promises that He will answer you if you ask Him.
5. Do not edit or change what God says even if you don’t understand it.
6. Reject the lies and receive the truth.
7. Take notes.
8. Transfer your notes to your journal without editing what God said to you.

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.
