One step in God's process to transform you

Your walk in the Spirit is not only a journey. It is also a war. The world would like to squeeze you into its mold. You have friends who have allowed the media to push and form them into an ungodly shape. They put pressure on you and want you to be as mixed up as they are. God tells you not to do it. For example, Romans 12:2 says, “And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” God is able to look into the future. He foreknew all the choices you would make. Romans 8:29 says, “For those God foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters.” He wants you to be conformed to the image of Jesus Christ.

Here’s another verse that talks about God’s plan for us to be shaped and transformed into the same image of Jesus: 2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” And here, Paul says he wants Christ to be fully formed in the believers. That shows that this transformation is a process: Galatians 4:19 “My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you.” Christ is in us, and He appears as we look for Him. Then the fleshly veil is removed, and we begin to see Him as He is, a many-membered body on earth in submission to the glorious Head in heaven. Jesus is the Head of the church.

Ask God to answer these questions.

  1. What does it mean that walking in the Spirit is also a war?
  2. How does the world try to squeeze you into its mold?
  3. Why does God want you to be like Jesus?
  4. What does it mean for you to be transformed by the renewing of your mind?
  5. How can God know all the choices you will make?

Bonus questions:

  1. If God knows all the choices you will make, does that mean God forces you to make those decisions?
  2. What is the image of Jesus that God wants you to be like?
  3. Why is the process of becoming like Jesus compared to childbirth?
  4. What does it mean for Christ to be fully formed in you?
  5. What is your fleshly veil, and how does it get removed?
  6. How is Jesus the Head of the church?

SEEKING GOD

audio recording for reflection:

  1. Pray for the Lord to protect you and keep you in His presence and His presence only.
  2. Direct your mind toward the Lord only.
  3. Ask God what He want’s to talk about.
  4. You can ask God any questions. In all of this, be led by the Holy Spirit. God promises that He will answer you if you ask Him.
  5. Do not edit or change what God says even if you don’t understand it.
  6. Reject the lies and receive the truth.
  7. Take notes.
  8. Transfer your notes to your journal without editing what God said to you.

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.
