One step in God's process to transform you

Some people believe in their assumptions, but that’s just plain crazy thinking. Assumptions come out of worldviews. Worldviews are those inner worlds people have in their minds. They aren’t real. They are make-believe. There’s some true stuff there, but who knows what’s real and what’s not real? So assumptions are coming out of this make-believe world inside the mind, and assumptions aren’t real. They are made-up stuff that might accidently be true, but you can’t know for sure. What happens when you try to think back a thousand years or six thousand years. The problem just gets crazy worse. And then there’s the fact that science and logic are biased because people are biased. People have ideas in their worldviews they think are true. They can’t get outside themselves to be objective.

In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth. We know the history in the Bible is true because the Holy Spirit tells us it is. We can trust the Holy Spirit, and we can trust the fact that what God tells us through the Bible is true. God made the sun, earth, planets, and stars. He made all the plants and animals. Finally, He made Adam and Eve. He told them what they should do and what they shouldn’t do. Then the devil came and told them to do what God had told them not to do. They had to make a choice, but they made a bad choice. They decided to do what the devil said instead of what God said.

A spiritual law says you become a slave of whoever you obey. Because Adam and Eve obeyed the devil, a terrible thing happened. They became slaves to Satan. Instead of being children of God, Adam and Eve became children of the devil.

Ask God to answer these questions.

  1. Why are worldviews not real?
  2. How can assumptions sometimes be true?
  3. Why can’t the human mind figure out what happened a thousand or six thousand years ago without divine revelation?
  4. Why are science and logic biased?
  5. Why can you trust the Holy Spirit when He tells you the Bible is true?

Bonus questions:

  1. Why did Adam and Eve become slaves to Satan?
  2. How does your worldview influence your beliefs and assumptions?
  3. If assumptions are unreliable and come from a make-believe world, how can you make decisions or evaluate evidence?
  4. How are science and logic twisted by worldviews, cultural bias, presuppositions, and confirmation bias?
  5. Why did God give Adam and Eve a choice if He knew they would disobey Him?
  6. How did Adam and Eve’s disobedience affect humanity’s relationship with God?
  7. If Adam and Eve became children of the devil, how do you become a child of God?

SEEKING GOD

audio recording for reflection:

  1. Pray for the Lord to protect you and keep you in His presence and His presence only.
  2. Direct your mind toward the Lord only.
  3. Ask God what He want’s to talk about.
  4. You can ask God any questions. In all of this, be led by the Holy Spirit. God promises that He will answer you if you ask Him.
  5. Do not edit or change what God says even if you don’t understand it.
  6. Reject the lies and receive the truth.
  7. Take notes.
  8. Transfer your notes to your journal without editing what God said to you.

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.
