One step in God's process to transform you

The image and likeness of Christ is who you are. Christ in you can’t sin. The carnal flesh can’t do what’s right. Faith comes as you hear God’s voice. Then you receive God’s grace, which is God’s power to do what’s right. We allow God to speak His words and do His works through you. You let the love of God flow through you to everyone around you. When you do this, the Holy Spirit plants the Seed of Jesus Christ into your heart. You are changed.

A day is coming when you will awake with the image of God.

“As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness (Psalm 17:15).”

You will have Christ fully formed within you. That doesn’t just happen while you sit back and do nothing. You must listen to God’s voice now. You must yield to His Spirit. The bride (the church) must have an intimate relationship with the Bridegroom. God keeps telling you to enter into the Spirit more completely and to enter into the authority that comes with faith. Then you have authority to take hold of the power of grace, and God’s grace will do God’s will through you. You, of course, must yield to God’s grace so He can do God’s will in and through you.

“My dear children, for whom I am again in the pains of childbirth until Christ is formed in you (Galatians 4:19).”

Paul says he wants Christ to be fully formed within believers, showing that the process of spiritual maturity and transformation ends in complete victory.

“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed (Romans 8:19-25).”

This refers to the future time when the sons of God (believers) will be fully revealed in glory.

Ask God to answer these questions.

  1. What does it mean that Christ in you can’t sin?
  2. Why can’t your carnal flesh do what’s right?
  3. How does hearing God’s voice give you faith?
  4. How does God’s grace help you do what’s right?
  5. How does the Holy Spirit plant the Seed of Jesus Christ in your hearts?

Bonus questions:

  1. What does it mean to awake in the image of God?
  2. Why does the church, Christ’s bride, need an intimate relationship with Jesus, the Bridegroom?
  3. What is the authority that comes to you with faith?
  4. Why does Paul describe spiritual growth as being like childbirth?
  5. What does it mean for the children of God to be revealed in glory?

SEEKING GOD

audio recording for reflection:

  1. Pray for the Lord to protect you and keep you in His presence and His presence only.
  2. Direct your mind toward the Lord only.
  3. Ask God what He want’s to talk about.
  4. You can ask God any questions. In all of this, be led by the Holy Spirit. God promises that He will answer you if you ask Him.
  5. Do not edit or change what God says even if you don’t understand it.
  6. Reject the lies and receive the truth.
  7. Take notes.
  8. Transfer your notes to your journal without editing what God said to you.

Keep in mind that God doesn’t want you to ever disconnect from Him. He wants to flow through you constantly in knowledge, wisdom, and love.

Sequence Diagram Exercise

Review the article for this unit and create a sequence diagram that shows a sequence you find in the article. (Sequence Diagram Info) A circle starts the sequence. You can also add a circle to end a sequence. The rectangles at the top are the actors, and they should all be nouns. Each actor has what is called a life line running vertically below it. The horizontal arrows show the actions (verbs) between the actors (nouns). If you look at the example, you’ll quickly understand.

Let the Holy Spirit lead you in this. (Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.) Take what you learned, your notes or what you produced and videotape yourself. Be a kid influencer for Christ with your own social media platform by uploading your video as God leads.
